Welcome
to the home page of the
Campus
Greens
at North
Carolina
State
University
Campus
Greens is a national, student-based, non-profit
organization dedicated to building a broad-based movement
for radical democracy on America's high school and college
campuses.
We
work throughout the year, both on and off campus, serving
our community and promoting Green politics. We aim to
become effective agents of social change, able to overcome
our world's gravest problems, and to aid in the construction
of a society based on grassroots democracy,
ecology, social justice, and non-violence.
Campus
Greens is one of the fastest growing progressive student
groups in the nation. Join us if you want to help make
a difference as we work for a safer, saner world.

Green Convergence in Fayetteville:
March Against the War
March 19th, 10:00am, the Green Party tent at Rowan Street Park in Fayetteville
March
19-20 marks the two-year anniversary of the U.S. bombing and invasion
of Iraq. Fayetteville is home to Fort Bragg - ground zero for the 82nd
Airborne Division and many of the Army's elite units. Less well-known
is the fact that Fayetteville is also home to a growing base of
anti-war activists and organizations. They are military folks,
veterans, families of active-duty soldiers and veterans, students,
workers, housewives, clergy, educators, and all are part of a vibrant,
and growing, statewide network.
Campus Greens will participate in this historic demonstration. From the
convergence point, we will walk to the beginning of the march route and
march together at 11:00am to the rally. We will stand in solidarity
with representatives from Military Families Speak Out, Iraq Veterans
Against the War, and many other peace and justice organizations.
To volunteer to spend some time at the table or help with the day's logistics, contact:

Regular Events |
Campus Greens Meetings
Rotating days, either Monday or Tuesday (Check the Calendar)
7:30pm in the SOURCE Office, Talley Student Center, first floor.
We will hold our meetings every week at the same time and place, but we
rotate between Monday and Tuesday to allow for people with conflicting
schedules to at least attend half of the meetings. To stay informed to
changes made to our meeting schedule, please join the Listservs or check the Calendar.
Honk for Peace
Fridays at 5:00pm at the NCSU Belltower .
Come join us at the Belltower on Fridays for Honk for Peace. Starting
at 5:00pm, when traffic becomes heavier, we stand above Hillsborough
street and try to elicit support from passing traffic in the form of
honking. We also engage passing pedestrians and hand out literature.
Honk for Peace is a fun, regular, social event, and a good place for
young activists not certain about making a commitment to an
organization to meet other like-minded people. This event is open to
all progressive campus groups.
Critical Mass
On the last Friday of every month. Departs at 4:30pm from the NCSU Belltower.
NOTE: The November Critical Mass will be on the next to last Friday due to Thanksgiving break.
Critical
Mass is a huge bike-ride, meant to promote alternative transportation
and awareness of cyclists on the road. Critical Mass exists in most
major cities, but has only recently been started up in Raleigh. Find a
bike and try to make it out to the Belltower to ride with us. For
cyclists accustomed to fearing for their lives while riding on city
streets, Critical Mass is an empowering experience.
Food Not Bombs
Thursdays at 6:00 on Hillsborough Street, between Sylvia's and NY Pizza.
Food
Not Bombs is an autonomous peace action supported by Campus Greens that
aims to provide the basic human right of food to members of the
community. Food prepared has been rescued from its path to a landfill
and illustrates American waste through the ability to feed many people
for close to nothing. This action puts to shame the nation's
multi-million-dollar budget on military expenses. Feel free to take
part in the human right of food and fellowship. Open to public.
